DJ G & Carman talk about health care reform from a personal, not political, viewpoint. Speaking of health, now that homosexuality is not a disease, do we still need to quarantine ourselves in gay bars?

  1. Gay Bars: I think historically, patronage of gay bars has gone up and done, and what seems like bars becoming less popular is both a part of that trend, as well as other things. Some bars are still very busy like 5801, and some bars are less exclusive and have gay and str8 clientele like Spin. I think too there have always been higher class joints (where there would never be a guy giving blow jobs) and places of less high brow interactivity.

I do think that it is easier for people to mix in all sorts of clubs and locations. The bar at Arsenal Lanes in Lawrenceville, is a good example. Brad and I will stop in there, as we know the bar tenders and a number of folks. It isn’t Gay at all, but I’d have no trouble giving Brad a kiss on the lips there. Other str8 bars, I’d never do that. I think a lot of gays who like to go to Str8 bars don’t touch or kiss at all. If it is just hanging out with your friends, that os no big deal.
I think too, that trends change in terms of how we (gay guys in general) spend time. Since I have a BF, I rarely go out. We love to dance, but we aren’t big on standing around a bar drinking. We’d rather be at a friends and socialize. If I were single that might be different. I might then go out more. On vacation, we tend to go out more and visit bars.

Music: loved the music in this show, esp. the Dragonette!
